Rhode Island & Newport Wedding Band
Rhode Island weddings tend to happen close to the water: a mansion lawn in Newport, a harbor-side tent in Bristol, a club overlooking Narragansett Bay. Do I Do is a six-piece live wedding band that plays all of New England, Rhode Island included. We bring the dance floor; the ocean view is on you.

Rhode Island venues we've played
Belle Mer, Newport
Newport Beach House, Middletown
Herreshoff Marina, Bristol
Mount Hope Farm, Bristol
Squantum Association, Riverside
Newport and Bristol both sit on the bay, so the mood is easy: cocktails as the sun drops, then a room that wants to dance. At the Newport Beach House we played the ceremony and the reception in one evening. We did an acoustic processional, then a full band for the first dance and everything after.
Planning a Newport or Bristol wedding with a band
Summer traffic and load-in
Newport on a summer Saturday is busy. Bridge traffic, beach traffic and narrow downtown streets all add time. We plan our arrival around it, and we confirm load-in times and parking with your venue or planner ahead of the day. For setup we need a 10' × 20' level area, one dedicated outlet and two hours of access before guests arrive.
Tents on the water
Many Rhode Island receptions are tented on a lawn or right on the waterfront. Tents are great for a band, but they need a level stage area, a dance floor that reaches the stage, and power the band doesn't share with the caterer. Loop us in with your tent company early and we'll send them exactly what we need.
Club rooms and volume
Private clubs and waterfront venues sometimes have volume rules. A dedicated sound engineer comes to every Do I Do wedding and mixes for your room. The dance floor gets a real party, and the tables near the bay can still talk.
Book early for September
Rhode Island's peak runs late spring through October, and early fall in Newport is especially popular. Peak Saturdays often book a year or more out. Fridays and Sundays have more flexibility.

From a Rhode Island couple
"My now wife and I were dead set on having a band for our wedding vs. a DJ from day 1."

Rhode Island wedding band FAQ
Can you play our ceremony by the water, then the reception?
Yes. We offer ceremony and cocktail-hour musicians, so one team can cover the whole day. Tell us the layout and timing and we'll plan the handoff from ceremony to reception.
Do you play Newport mansion and tented weddings?
Yes. We need a level 10' × 20' area, one dedicated outlet and two hours of setup. For a tent, we'll coordinate power and stage placement with your tent company.
Do you charge more to travel to Rhode Island?
Every quote is custom and depends on date, location and services. Check your date and we'll send yours.
